Broking, Kintner, LaBarge, Davey and McLynn look at home, home on The Range at Hibbing

HIBBING, MN (July 20) - Hibbing Raceway was back under green Saturday, July 20. WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners on the Iron Range included Tyler Kintner, Johnny Broking, Andy LaBarge, Andy Davey, and Tristen McLynn.

Eric Anderson was the early leader of the WISSOTA Midwest Mod feature. Following several laps of action, Dylan Miller and Mikey Blevins held second and third, with Miller quickly gaining on Anderson before a caution fell for a spun competitor. Another caution one lap after the restart kept the field slowed.

Anderson led the field back to green with 10 to go. Miller held second, with Michael Blevins, Sr. and Andy Davey side by side for third. A caution fell for Mikey Blevins, who went off the track with a flat tire.

With seven laps remaining, Anderson led the field back to green once again, but Blevins, Sr. slid past into the lead to complete the lap, only to have Anderson to fight back and regain the spot into turn two. Davey moved into third, side by side with Blevins, Sr. With four to go, they raced three wide into turn four; contact was made and Davey spun. The call went against Blevins, Sr.

Davey drove past Anderson at the drop of the green into the lead, as Anderson then spun in turn one and collected several cars. The field was restarted for another go at the final four laps.

Davey led the field back to green with Sam Blevins moving to second, and Miller third. With two to go, Miller moved alongside Blevins and made his way into second. Another two cautions fell, but once back under green it was all Davey, as he scored the victory ahead of Miller, Sam Blevins, 12th-starter Sam Kolar, and 20th-starter Matthew Cunha in the top five.

Andy LaBarge (Breanna Hamlin Photo)

Following a first-lap caution in the WISSOTA Super Stock main event, Doug Koski was the early leader by a hair ahead of Andy LaBarge and Mikey Vajdl. LaBarge took the lead before a caution regrouped the field with three laps scored.

LaBarge jumped back out to a healthy lead following the caution, before another yellow fell for a spun racer in turn two.

Back under green, Andy LaBarge grabbed the lead once more, as Koski was second ahead of a battle between Dalton Carlson and Tristan LaBarge for third. Tristan slowly chipped away at Koski’s advantage in second, making his way by on the final lap. Out front, Andy LaBarge took the win, as Tristan LaBarge, Koski, Carlson and Vajdl completed the top five.

Johnny Brokin (Breanna Hamlin Photo)

Harry Hanson and Derek Vesel led a short field of WISSOTA Late Models to the green flag, with Hanson the early leader. Estey drove by Vesel a lap later for second, and set off after Hanson in the lead.

Estey drove by Hanson into the top spot with about five laps scored, before contact between Hanson and Vesel along the frontstretch brought the field to a halt. Vang was also collected in the incident.

Estey led the field back to green, as Johnny Broking moved into second. Hanson was third, with Mark Heinle fourth.

Broking began to search the track for a way by Estey, who was predominantly in the high line. Broking began to dive low in turns three and four, gaining momentum as Estey had to ready for lapped traffic ahead in his preferred groove. With eight to go, Broking was alongside Estey at the start/finish line, making the pass in turn four through lapped traffic.

Broking drove on to the victory from there, as Estey had to settle for second. Hanson, Mark Heinle and Vang were top-five finishers.

Tyler Kintner (Breanna Hamlin Photo)

T.J. Heinle was the early leader of the WISSOTA Modified feature, before an early race caution brought the field back together.

Kintner got by to complete the next lap in the lead following the restart, as Heinle, Bob Broking, and Andrew Inman argued over top five spots. Heinle went around with five laps in the books and the yellow was back out.

Kintner led the restart, as Broking and Inman fought for second. Mack Estey was close behind in fourth. The yellow reappeared with 15 laps to go.

Back under green, Kinter continued to lead, with Broking comfortably in second. Inman was third, with heavy pressure from Estey and Jeffrey Wood for third. Estey took the spot the next time around.

Kintner continued on to the victory, with Broking second. Estey was third, and Wood got by Inman in the final laps for fourth.

Tristen McLynn (Breanna Hamlin Photo)

Cade Johnson was the early leader of the WISSOTA Hornet feature, but eighth-starter Tristen McLynn made quick work of the field and took the lead just a few laps into the race. McLynn drove on to the win ahead of Johnson, Louis Skaja, Justin Barsness, and Calvin Skaja in the top five.
