PROCTOR, MN (July 14) - Proctor Speedway welcomed more than 80 racers on hand for weekly action at the track just over the hill from the Twin Ports.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Harry Hanson, Nick Oreskovich, Curt Myers, Cody Carlson, Eric Crosby, and Justin Schelitzche.

In the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Cody Carlson started on the front row and led from start to finish, but it was not as easy as the results indicate. Justin Bassa and Jimmy Latvala were early challengers, and it did not take long for ninth-starter Joey Jensen to join in the fun, as he worked forward to second at the halfway point of the race.

Jensen was all over Carlson for the lead, trying both high and low. Each time, Carlson anticipated his moves and did not falter out front.

A late yellow set up a two-lap dash to the finish. Jensen used a slide job on the restart to rattle Carlson, but Cody crossed over down the backstretch and regained the lead as the white flag waved. Jensen was alongside Carlson again in turn one, but raced him cleanly and Carlson held on for the win. Paul Ripley, Latvala and 10th-starter Cory Jorgensen rounded out the top five.

Curt Myers (Tom Krob Photo)

The WISSOTA Super Stock feature was led early on by Scott Lawrence, with drivers four wide behind him for second. Sixth-starter Curt Myers slipped through into the spot, and then began a battle of inches with Lawrence. Myers got by on lap six, but Lawrence was saved by a yellow. Patrick Beeksma then joined the battle, looking for a way past both for the top spot.

Myers persisted in his approach in taking the lead, and was finally able to clear Lawrence and get out front of the pack.

A last lap yellow flew, and the field regrouped for a green/white to checkered finish. Myers held off Lawrence and Beeksma for the win, with Shawn McFadden and Jordan Henkemeyer in the top five.

Nick Oreskovich (Tom Krob Photo)

Kennedy Swan was the early leader in the WISSOTA Modified feature, holding the point for 14 laps. Oreskovich and Andrew Inman had a great battle for second, before Oreskovich prevailed and moved in to challenge Kennedy.

Oreskovich drove under Swan on lap 15, making the pass and pulling away slightly to get the win. Inman, Jody Bellefeuille, and Shaun Kreyer were top-five finishers.

Harry Hanson (Tom Krob Photo)

Harry Hanson led from start to finish in the WISSOTA Late Models, to win his first feature race in nearly two years. He grabbed the lead from the start, and while Jeff Massingill tried everything to get by Hanson, the 70-year-old held on and drove to the win. Massingill, Tim McMann, Danny Vang and Robbie Cooper were top-five finishers.

Eric Crosby (Tom Krob Photo)

WISSOTA Pure Stock rookie Eric Crosby fought off challenges from Chaston Finckbone, Jake Smith and Devin Fries to get the win Sunday, his first in the class. Finckbone, Smith, Fries, and Brent Mindock completed the top five.

Riley Ament led the first half of the race in the WISSOTA Hornets. Eventually he was passed by Bobie Arnes, and after losing a muffler, Ament had to leave the track.

Eighth-starter Justin Schelitzche was already in third at the halfway point of the race, and he got by D.J. Jarecki to grab second and then closed on Arnes.

They went at it for the top spot for the last few laps and on the final lap, Schelitzche made the pass for the win.
