Leiker and Larson load up as winners after topping headliners at Gillette Thunder Speedway
GILLETTE, WY (June 8) - Troy Leiker and Dean Larson shared the WISSOTA Dirt Track Series spotlight at Gillette Thunder Speedway on Saturday night.
Troy Leiker became the fifth different winner in five WISSOTA Midwest Modified races contested at the speedway this season. He started seventh on the grid, worked his way forward, and held off his brother Tony, who climbed from 14th to finish second. Travis Soper claimed third ahead of Austin Long and Ty Miller.
Larson became a perfect five for five at the oval with his WISSOTA Mod Four victory. He started dead last on the five-car grid, but quickly made his way to the front for the win. Dax Reher finished second ahead of Nicole Kramer and Brody Grenz.
Eddie Kirchoff grabbed the checkers in the Modifieds, and John Garrigan, Jr. earned another Hobby Stock victory as well on Saturday.
