Copp crashes the party on second night at Cedar Lake and storms to Super Stock victory

NEW RICHMOND, WI (April 13) - Kyle Copp started alongside Joey Jensen to bring the WISSOTA Super Stocks to the green flag Saturday, April 13 at Cedar Lake Speedway, and he stood proudly in victory lane 20 laps later to highlight action at the New Richmond, Wisconsin oval.

Jensen and Copp brought the field to the green flag, with Copp gaining the edge to complete lap one as Jack Koranda moved into second. Jensen was third, Eric Martini was fourth and Dylan Nelson was fifth. With four laps complete the caution fell and the field ground to a halt.

On the restart Copp continued to lead the pack. Jensen moved into second, Koranda was third, and Martini and Nelson fought for fourth.

As the race progressed, Koranda was never too far from Jensen in second, as the duo battled back and forth for runner-up honors in what was the best battle on the track.

Following a late restart with two to go, Jensen slid under Copp in turns three and four and into the lead, but it was all for naught as a dustup in the back of the field drew the caution and Jensen’s move was negated.

On the restart, Jensen couldn’t duplicate his earlier effort and out front, Copp drove on to the victory followed by Jensen, Koranda, 12th-starter Ron Mahder, and Martini.

In the track’s other classes, Matthew Larson, Nick Panitzke, Shane Sabraski, Joey Jensen, and Jake Kouba were victorious.
