Cedar Lake Speedway fans get first look of 2024 and Matthew Larson looks Super not in just one class but two

NEW RICHMOND, WI (April 6) - Matthew Larson struck first in WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action for the 2024 season, as the Lake Elmo, Minnesota racer was victorious Saturday, April 6 at Cedar Lake Speedway. It was the first sanctioned race anywhere in WISSOTA Country.

Larson, who started outside of the second row, held third for several laps, before getting into second on lap 10, then battling for the lead for the next five laps before overtaking the top spot and holding on for the win. He was followed to the checkered flags by Dexton Koch, Jesse Redetzke, Terran Spacek, and 10th-starter Dan Nissalke in the top five.

Koch and Redetzke were heat race winners.

In the track’s other action, Sam Mars won in the Late Models, his first-ever victory at the speedway in this class. Larson picked up a second win on the night in the USRA Late Model class, and Brandon Jensen won in the B Modifieds. Cam Schafer won in the Traditional Sprint class, while Taton Hansen won his first-ever Modified feature.
