Koch is the third Super Stock winner in three nights of 2024 racing at Cedar Lake Speedway

NEW RICHMOND, WI (April 27) - It was a night of thrilling features at Cedar Lake Speedway Saturday, as the track was able to beat the weather and complete its third night of racing in 2024.

In WISSOTA Dirt Track Series racing, Dexton Koch’s trip from Becker, MN paid off in the form of a feature victory in the Super Stocks.

Adam Pratt and Ron Mahder brought the field to the green flag, with Mahder narrowly out front ahead of side-by-side battles among Pratt, Dylan Nelson, Dexton Koch, Denis Czech and Eric Martini for top-five spots. Nelson got by Pratt to second to complete the third lap, and Koch displaced him one more spot a lap later. Czech held fifth with four scored.

With five laps scored, Mahder continued to lead with Nelson a little less than half a second back. Koch continued to seek a way by the 25 of Nelson, while Pratt was fourth and Czech was fifth. The top three broke away from the field, with Koch beginning to challenge Nelson along the bottom lane in the corners for second. A caution with 10 to go for Jesse Redetzke regrouped the field.

Mahder led the restart back to green, with Nelson to the inside and Koch to the outside, ahead of Pratt and Czech. As the field entered turn one, Koch split Nelson and Mahder through the middle, taking the lead and moving up to the top lane, before Mahder roared back through the middle down the backstretch, moving to the top once again in three and four and into the lead. They were nearly side by side to the start/finish line to score the lap, with Mahder holding the slight advantage. Czech found a lot of speed up top and took third from Nelson, while Jack Koranda was fifth before a caution regrouped the field with eight to go. Another caution on the restart slowed the field once again.

Following the restart, Koch drove by Mahder along the bottom coming to the start/finish line to complete the lap, with Czech close behind in third. With Koch and Mahder out front, Czech came under heavy pressure from Koranda and Nelson for third with five to go.

Out front, Koch broke away to a two second lead and drove on to the victory, grabbing the win ahead of Mahder, Czech, Koranda, and Nelson in the top five.

In the track’s other classes, Kevin Burdick got by race-long leader Jake Redetzke with two to go to garner the victory in the Late Models, his first-ever at the track. Jake Timm won in the Modifieds, while Jett Sorensen was victorious in the Midwest Mods. Cam Schafer and Cade Nelson took home the checkered flags in the Sprints and USRA Late Models, respectively.
