Atkinson, Kromschroeder, Boston, Brauer, Bawden and Arnes are the top runners at Granite City’s Piston Cup opener

SAUK RAPIDS, MN (September 20) - Granite City Motor Park hosted its annual Piston Cup special September 20-21, kicking off WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action on Friday with winners including Landon Atkinson, Cole Boston, Dylan Kromschroeder, Kolton Brauer, Tommy Bawden and Bobie Arnes.

Just one week removed from the epic battle between Atkinson and Dan Ebert at the WISSOTA 100, where Ebert came out on top in the WISSOTA Modifieds, Atkinson trumped Ebert in this bout. Starting inside the third row, Atkinson grabbed the lead with about 11 laps to go, holding on to grab the win ahead of Dan Ebert. Ebert, who started seventh, settled for runner-up honors ahead of JT Johnson, Zach Benson and Brandon Dolman.

In the WISSOTA Super Stocks, Dylan Kromschroeder started on the front row and led from start to finish to capture the victory ahead of Denis Czech and Dustin Nelson on the podium. Eric Martini and Jordan Henkemeyer completed the top five.

Cole Boston started on pole of the WISSOTA Midwest Mod feature and led from start to finish for the first-night victory. Jake Smith, Cole Elton, ninth-starter Corey Mehrwerth and Blake Adams completed the top five.

Following last week’s WISSOTA 100 Championship Feature victory, Kolton Brauer found himself in victory lane once again. Starting third on the grid, he took control about lap nine and took home the hardware. He was chased to the checkered flag by Ty Agen, Shawn Amundson, eighth-starter Thomas Worth, and 12th-starter Darek Turner in the top five.

Tommy Bawden started on the pole of the WISSOTA Mod Four feature, leading from green to checkered and holding off the charge of eighth-starter Dustin Holtquist, who finished second. Tenth-starter Luke Erlandson picked his way forward to third, while Ashton Schwinn and Tyler Larson rounded out the top five.

Bobie Arnes took the lead in the WISSOTA Hornets with about a handful of laps remaining to capture the victory ahead of sixth-starter Justin Schelitzche. Anthony Jenson, Skyler James Mortezaee, and Jenna Hagemann were top-five finishers.
