Leiker and Pourier post second straight wins and a different Holtquist hoists Black Hills Nationals check after night two of Rapid City action
RAPID CITY, SD (August 24) - The final night of the South Dakota Lottery Half Mile Nationals at Black Hills Speedway was highlighted by WISSOTA Dirt Track Series victories from Troy Leiker, Warren Pourier, Jr., and Dustin Holtquist.
In the WISSOTA Midwest Mods, Leiker started from the front row and gained the advantage early, making his way to victory lane at the completion of the 15-lapper for his ninth win of the 2024 season and a sweep of the weekend’s features. Darin Hauff, Connor Friske, Alan Farley and Scott Hansen completed the top five.
Dustin Holtquist also started from the front row in the WISSOTA Mod Fours, grabbing the early lead ahead of polesitter Dean Larson, and later holding a nearly 4-second advantage ahead of father Robert Holtqist for the eventual victory. It was Dustin’s eighth win of his season. Kyle Hardesty rounded out the podium ahead of Dean Larson and Tristan Torres in the top five.
In the WISSOTA Street Stocks, Pourier, Jr. moved into the lead on the second lap from his front-row starting spot, taking the win by a scant .436 seconds ahead of Troy Murner in the chase to the checkered flags. Leonard Ferguson, Kyle Hanson and Tyler Lamb were top-five finishers.
Brett Konst (Hobby Stocks) and Eric Mass (Modifieds) were also victorious in the track’s other action.
