Konold claims $1200 for Mod win while speedy and greedy Skorczewski, Zabel and Broksieck double up at Miller Central

MILLER, SD (August 10) - The WISSOTA Modifieds took center stage at Miller Central Speedway on Saturday for their shot at a $1,200 top prize. Tony Konold earned the money in the Modifieds, while Josh Skorczewski, Trevor Nelson, Dawson Zabel and Maria Broksieck also collected WISSOTA Dirt Track Series wins on night two of the doubleheader.

Konold started on the front row of the WISSOTA Modified main event, and scored his first win of the season in Miller. Mike Stearns, who won the track championship in the division, settled for second with Dylan Zabel third, Garrett Gross fourth and Tyler Anglin fifth.

Skorczewski topped the WISSOTA Late Model main event to sweep the features for the weekend in Miller. He started on the pole on Saturday to collect his fourth of the season at the oval. Jayson Good chased the winner across the line in second with Trevor Anderson third, Mike Stearns fourth and Curt Kranz fifth.

Nelson grabbed the WISSOTA Super Stock win, only his second at the oval this season. He started on the outside of the second row, and outran Derek Zastrow to the checkered flag. Dominique Menzia, Shawn Schnabel and Kody Lehr rounded out the top five.

Dawson Zabel earned his fourth WISSOTA Midwest Mod win of the season in Miller. He used the front row to his advantage, and scored the win in the 15-lap race. Lorin Johnson settled for second with Derek Rieck third, Jayme Peterson fourth and Lane Johnson fifth.

Broksieck captured the WISSOTA Street Stock victory for the second night in a row at the oval. She started on the pole on Saturday, and kept fifth-starter Matt Goth behind her in second. Broc Stout was third, Andy Rossow fourth and Grady Myers fifth.

Mike Hammill topped action in the Pure Stock division.
