CRARY, ND (August 10) - Devils Lake Speedway hosted the MinnKota Lighting Sprint Nationals Saturday night.

In addition to the Sprint Car action, WISSOTA Midwest Mods were part of the program, with Matt Schow collecting the victory in that class.

Schow won the caution-plagued feature, moving up six positions into the top spot for his fifth win of the season. Jamie Dietzler also advanced six spots to garner runner-up honors. Ryne Uhrich, Jason Halvorson, and Jason Strand completed the top five.

In the Pure Stocks, rookie driver Kyle Charette drove his way to victory lane for the second time this season. Steven Richards finished second, while Tate Bullis moved up five spots to finish third. Austin Harris and Trentin Decoteau rounded out the top five.

The Western Renegade Non-Wing Sprints went green, white, checkered for their feature race, with Eric Guyot taking the back-row challenge. Out front, Myles Tomlinson and Jeremy Lizakowski put on a heck of a show, battling for position side by side during the first half of the race. Tomlinson ended up with the win, while Guyot charged through the field, but came up one spot short to finish second. Lizakowski completed the podium.

With 28 cars on hand, the Lightning Sprint feature was won by Brian Strane, Jr. He capitalized on another driver’s misfortune and battled his way to the lead just in time for the checkered flag. Matthew Taves was hot on his heels to finish second, with older sister Kate Taves finishing third. Kelsi Pederson was the hard charger, advancing 20 spots to finish fourth, while Josiah King completed the top five.
