PROCTOR, MN (August 8) - Proctor Speedway in Proctor, MN hosted the 13th race of the 2024 Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series - powered by Momentum Truck Group, Freightliner, Western Star - and Tyler Peterson continued his winning ways, topping a rain-plagued night in the Twin Ports by outlasting Cole Searing and Jeff Massingill in the 40-lap feature race.

In other WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action, Bob Broking and Joey Jensen also garnered wins.

Ashley Anderson started the night by setting fast time with a lap of 15.036 seconds around the high banked oval.

Anderson and Peterson earned the front row for the night’s $2,500-to-win, 40-lap feature event, with Peterson getting the upper hand on the initial start; he led the opening lap.

The caution flew just after two circuits were completed and, on the restart, Peterson took back off in the lead with Anderson, Searing and Kevin Eder battling for second just behind Peterson.

The next nine circuits ran green with great battles throughout traffic, including a fun tussle for seventh between James Giossi, Sam Mars, Kyle Peterlin, Travis Budisalovich and Jeff Provinzino.

On the lap 11 restart, Peterson, Massingill and Searing raced three wide for a moment for the top spot with Peterson holding serve out front. Massingill secured the second spot and chased Peterson for the next 15 laps of green flag action with the best action occurring out front while Massingill looked under Peterson for the lead on several occasions.

The final two cautions flew on back-to-back laps with just seven circuits remaining, and on each restart, the battle intensified out front with Peterson able to hold off all competitors for the victory. Searing wrestled second back from Massingill, while Mars and Peterlin rounded out the top five.

Bob Broking won the WISSOTA Modified feature. He started outside the second row and inherited the lead when early race leader Shane Sabraski left the track with a flat tire. He held on out front for the final 29 laps to take the win ahead of Brandon Copp, Joseph Thomas, Darrell Nelson, and 18th-starter Ryan Gierke.

Joey Jensen (Tom Krob Photo)

Joey Jensen won the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature, having started on the pole and opening a large lead that he held to the checkered flag. Garrett Paull, Zach Benson, Blake Adams and Ryan Savoy completed the top five.
