Edginton and Manning double up as Dead Horse Creek finishes the Cadillac Cup and hosts GVE Deere Run
MORDEN, MANITOBA (July 5-7) - It was a big weekend of action at Dead Horse Creek Speedway July 5-7, as the Morden, Manitoba speedplant hosted the GVE Deere Run, the rain date for the McNaught Cadillac Cup, as well as the Brad Wall Street Stock Memorial. Though rain interfered, postponing the second day of the GVE Deere Run to August 25, the rest of the original three-day program was completed by Sunday evening.
On Friday night, Shane Edginton drove from sixth on the grid to get by Scott Greer and take home the victory in the WISSOTA Late Models. Greer, Joey Pederson, Tucker Pederson and Brody Troftgruben completed the top five.
In the WISSOTA Modifieds, Ward Imrie started inside the third row, and maneuvered to the front to garner the victory. Polesitter Ethan Friesen was second, Shawn Teunis was third, Curtis Stieh was fourth and Eric Klassen completed the top five.
Glen Manning topped an impressive group of WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds for the victory Friday. He was followed to the checkered flag by Tyler Doell, Justin Jones, Bailey Cousins and Brandon Rehill in the top five.
Braden Brauer made the long trip from southern Minnesota to Morden pay off, as he took top honors in the WISSOTA Street Stocks. Trey Hess, Ty Agen, James Wall and Tylar Wilson were top-five finishers.
And, in the speedway’s Stock class, Chris Unrau found himself in victory lane to complete the first night of action.
Following Saturday’s rainout, racers regrouped and readied for the Brad Wall Street Stock Memorial on Sunday, as well as the previously rained out McNaught Cadillac Cup.
Edginton doubled up his winning efforts in the WISSOTA Late Models, picking up another victory for the weekend. He was chased to the checkered flag by Greer once again. Ryan Kereluk, Ryan Corbett, and 11th-starter Tyson Turnbull were top-five finishers.
In the WISSOTA Modifieds, Curtis Stieh was victorious ahead of Rick Delaine, Eric Klassen, 12th-starter Brodie Dobson and 10th-starter Jordan Duray.
Manning also doubled up Sunday in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods. Scott Bintz was second, Brandon Rehill was third, 18th-starter Nick Baskier completed his charge in fourth, and Justin Jones completed the top five.
Trey Hess captured the Brad Wall Street Stock Memorial, with Braden Brauer improving four spots to second. James Wall, driving the No. 25RIP, was third, Tylar Wilson was fourth, and Austin Dueck completed the top five.
In the track’s Stock class, Kaden Lubute came out on top of the feature, while Gerry Poirier was the winner in the Super Trucks.
