SAUK RAPIDS, MN (July 21) - The third event of the July swing for the Structural Buildings WISSOTA Late Model Challenge Series was held at Granite City Motor Park in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota on Sunday. Shane Sabraski topped the headlining feature, following a new track record of 13.553 in qualifying, and also garnered the win in the Super Stocks.

Other WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Joey Jensen, Jim Gullikson, Tommy Bawden and Jenna Hagemann.

Kevin Burdick and Jesse Glenz earned the front row for the night’s $3,000-to-win, 40-lap WISSOTA Late Model feature event, with Burdick getting the upper hand on the initial start. He ran alone out front as Glenz, Sabraski and Tyler Peterson ran in close quarters for second. Glenz rolled up and wrestled the lead away from Burdick on lap eight, driving off to a sizeable lead, while Burdick, Peterson and Sabraski began to battle for second from laps 11 through 17, running two and three wide for position until the first caution of the race flew for a Rick Niemi spin in turn two.

On the restart, the trio ran three wide into the first corner behind Glenz, and Sabraski came out with the second position. He then tried to chase down Glenz, who was trying to slip off into the night.

Glenz led Sabraski, Peterson, Burdick and Cole Searing, who was piloting a Steve Hucovski-owned car for the night, in the top five.

Just past halfway, the second and final caution of the event flew for debris, bunching up the field one more time.

On the restart, Sabraski dove into the bottom and was able to slide by Glenz into the lead. Once he did, he distanced himself pretty quickly from the field out front. The final 15 laps ran nonstop, with Peterson, Glenz and Burdick in tight formation for second through fifth.

Sabraski took his second series win of the weekend in front of his hometown crowd. Peterson ran second with Burdick third at the line. Glenz and Searing rounded out the top five.

Following the top five were Jeff Provinzino, Ryan Mikkelson, Josh Zimpel, Adam Ayotte and Jeff Massingill in the top 10.

In the WISSOTA Super Stocks, Sabraski charged from seventh on the starting grid to net the win. He took the checkered flag ahead of polesitter Brandon Linquist, Dexton Koch, Chris Wark, and Denis Czech in the top five.

Joey Jensen drove from the pole to victory lane in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods. He was chased to the stripe by Blake Adams, 10th-starter Zach Benson, Ryan Putnam, and Ashley Boyum in the top five.

Starting outside the fourth row, Jim Gullikson picked his way forward to the victory in the WISSOTA Street Stocks. Levi Randt, Charlie Shiek, Tommy Pogones and Kolton Brauer were top-five finishers.

Tommy Bawden started inside the fourth row, but that did not deter the former WISSOTA National Champion, as he took the WISSOTA Mod Four win ahead of Luke Erlandson, Connor Bruss, Chad Funt and Blake Hawker in the top five.
