Greseth, Delaine and Doell dash to first wins of the season north of the border at Dead Horse Creek Speedway

MORDEN, MANITOBA (June 1) - Dead Horse Creek Speedway was back in action for its first show of the 2024 season Saturday, June 1, as the Morden, Manitoba speedway played host to the McNaught Cadillac Cup doubleheader.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Mike Greseth, Rick Delaine, and Tyler Doell.

Greseth started outside of the second row in the WISSOTA Late Model feature, taking the lead early and hanging on through 24 more laps to secure the flag-to-flag victory, his first in 2024. He had a more than 5.5-second advantage over second-place Scott Greer at the finish. Tyson Turnbull, Mike Balcaen and Ryan Kereluk were top-five finishers.

Delaine hung in the top three for the vast majority of the WISSOTA Modified race, securing the top spot with about five laps to go to deliver the victory, the first of his 2024 season in his first night out. He was followed to the checkered flag by front-row starter Danny Staff, 12th-starter Aaron Holtan, Brodie Dobson, and Brenden Luschinski in the top five.

Doell started from the front row alongside Paul Veert in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods. Grabbing the lead on lap nine, Doell drove off to a 2-second lead over the ensuing 14 laps. He grabbed the checkered flags ahead of seventh-starter Austin Hunter, Edward Bell, 11th-starter Nick Audette and Christopher Leek in the top five.

Chris Audette topped the Super Trucks, while Rob McFadzean won in the track’s Stock class.
