Another Blevins scores a first at Hibbing while Peterlin, Inman, LaBarge and Ament also top feature fields on Saturday
HIBBING, MN (June 1) - Like his brother did two weeks prior, Mikey Blevins raced to his first-career WISSOTA Midwest Modified victory on Saturday night at Hibbing Raceway.
Kyle Peterlin, Andrew Inman, Tristan LaBarge and Derek Ament also picked up WISSOTA Dirt Track Series wins in Hibbing.
Blevins started in the second row of the Midwest Modified feature, took the lead early, and pulled away late for the milestone win. Andy Davey finished second ahead of Tyler Vernon, Dylan Miller, and Sam Blevins.
Inman, a WISSOTA Modified rookie, earned his second win in the division this season at the speedway. He carved his way forward from eighth, and took the lead late in the second half of the 25-lap race. Bob Broking raced from seventh to second ahead of Tyler Vernon, Tyler Kintner and Duane Dale.
Peterlin claimed his first WISSOTA Late Model win of the season at the oval. He wrestled the lead from Danny Vang near the halfway point, and outran Jeff Provinzino to the checkers. Vang finished third ahead of Johnny Broking and Ben Heinle.
Tristan LaBarge outdueled his cousin Andy to win the WISSOTA Super Stock main event. The LaBarges shared row four at the start; they both worked their way to the front of the pack near halfway, and Tristan turned back the challenges of Andy for his first win of the season. Austin Blom was third ahead of Cole Chernosky and Dalton Carlson.
Ament started ninth on the WISSOTA Hornet grid and raced to his second win of the year in Hibbing. Jada Lore, Nikota Larson, Calvin Skaja and Riley Ament rounded out the top five in the large field.
