Gilbertson, Heinrich, Knapper, Adams, Brauer and Kampson create highlight reels for fans at Fiesta City

MONTEVIDEO, MN (May 29) - A field of 86 cars were in the pits on Wednesday night at Fiesta City Speedway, after the track was rained out the previous weekend.

WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Matt Gilbertson, Nate Heinrich, Jake Knapper, Blake Adams, Kolton Brauer, and Kole Kampsen.

In the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Adams led the entire feature for his first win at Fiesta City Speedway. Eighth-starter Tim Kanten finished second, seventh-starter Derek Rieck was third, Scott Hansen was fourth and 10th-starter Shane DeJong completed the top five.

Alex Grinager took the lead to begin the WISSOTA Street Stock feature, but on the next lap Kolton Brauer got by for the top spot. Brauer pulled away from the rest of the field for his second-straight win of the year. Brother Braden Brauer was second, Grinager slipped back to third, Josh Long was fourth and Mike Jans rounded out the top five.

Shawn Fernkes took the lead at the beginning of the WISSOTA Super Stock feature, battling with Jake Knapper for the top spot for eight laps before Knapper squeaked out the win on the final lap. The win was Knapper’s second straight of the season. Fernkes settled for second, Travis Scott was third, Karter Reents was fourth and Josh Roggatz completed the top five.

In the WISSOTA Late Models, Dustin Johanneck jumped out to the early lead. He was out front until lap six, when Matt Gilbertson drove by for the lead. Gilbertson went on to win his second-straight feature, crossing under the checkered flag ahead of Jordan Tollakson, Chad Olsen, Jon Tollakson, and Charlie Olsen in the top five.

Nate Heinrich led the WISSOTA Modified feature for his first win of the year. He was followed to the checkered flag by Ryan Flaten, Brian Haben, Mike Stearns and Jake Knapper in the top five.

Brady Albertson took the lead at the start of the WISSOTA Hornet feature. Kole Kampsen drove by on lap five and went on to win his second-straight feature at Fiesta City Speedway. Jerik Stabler, Adam VanDerostyne, Bradley Rossow, and Albertson were top-five finishers.

Brady Hagen took the lead to start the Pure Stock feature. Near the midpoint of the race, Jared Kelm took over out front. With five laps to go, however, Coltyn Schuler took the lead and went on to win his third-straight feature to start the season.
