CRARY, ND (June 15) - Devils Lake Speedway hosted another night of racing Saturday, June 15, with the WISSOTA Dirt Track Series hardware going home with Tucker Pederson, Jarod Klein, and Ty Agen.

In the WISSOTA Street Stocks, it was a battle of the two front-runners in the WISSOTA national points chase, as the current national points leader Braden Brauer faced off with second-place runner Ty Agen. Agen, of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin made the 478-mile trip in his quest for the national title. The two young guns battled an already tough veteran local Street Stock field.

At the checkered flag, Agen advanced five spots to take the win, while Brauer moved ahead six spots to finish second. Trey Hess, Kasey Ussatis, and rookie Brodee Eckerdt completed the top five.

The WISSOTA Midwest Mod feature was filled with close side-by-side battles. Jory Berg was called for an early caution that caused a chain reaction of unfortunate circumstances for a number of drivers. Berg did drive his way back through the field and attempted to catch Ryne Uhrich and Jarod Klein, at times almost making it three wide for the lead.

Uhrich was leading with three laps to go when he spun out and contact was made with Alex Johnson, ending Uhrich’s night. Klein drove off to the win, battling his way to the checkered flag with Berg settling for second place. Jaden Varnson, Bailey Cousins, and Cylen Vargason rounded out the top five.

It was an emotional win for rookie Tucker Pederson in the WISSOTA Late Models, as this was not only his first Late Model win, but it was his first trip to victory lane since the passing of his mom, Julie Pederson. The win did not come easy, as in the closing laps veteran driver Jason Strand was nipping at his heels. Pederson held off the tough veteran field to win his first Late Model feature since making the jump to Late Models from Street Stocks this year. Jason Strand was second, Dustin Strand charged through the field from eighth to finish third. Brody Troftgruben advanced six positions to finish fourth and Rusty Kollman completed the top five.

Joe Armstrong had to find a new line to get past Joe Ree, and cruised his way to victory lane Saturday night, though not without some competition from Austin Harris. Harris made gains on Armstrong through the final stages of the 15-lap feature. Armstrong held Harris off to get his first win of the 2024 season. Harris, Kyle Charette, Chris Unrau, and Ree completed the top five.

Ryan Cousins took home the hardware in the Trophy class.
