Koch claims the big cash at Dave Shackleton Memorial Super Stock special at Red Cedar

MENOMONIE, WI (June 7) - The Dave Shackleton Memorial was once again aligned with the Fastlane Super Stock Series Friday night at Red Cedar Speedway, bringing 46 Super Stocks to town to compete for the $2,974 top prize.

Winners in WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action included Dexton Koch, Kevin Adams, Wyatt Boyum, and Hunter VanGilder.

Shawn McFadden and Jordan Henkemeyer led the field to green in the 30-lap WISSOTA Super Stock main event. McFadden took off to the early lead as a battle ensued for second just behind him with Kyle Copp, Tom Karis and Henkemeyer; Copp and Henkemeyer eventually cleared Karis. A few laps later the caution fell and re-racked the field.

On that restart, Koch started to emerge and made a bid for the lead; he swept around second and third and pulled even with McFadden for the lead. The following lap Koch took the top spot, and Copp followed suit into second as the two approached lapped traffic. Copp closed in, but was never able to get close enough to make a move for the lead.

Behind them, Curt Myers and Terran Spacek charged from the rear of the field. Myers had just cracked the top five when a caution flew with six laps remaining. On the restart, Koch jumped back out to the lead, but Myers was charging hard on the outside; he moved into second and started to pursue Koch. While the gap shrunk, there were just not enough laps left and Myers ran out of time. Koch went on to win followed by Myers, Henkemeyer, Copp and Spacek in the top five.

Jake Hartung jumped out to the early lead in the WISSOTA Modified feature ahead of Ashley Anderson and Kevin Adams. Adams and Anderson battled briefly for second, with Adams clinching the spot. Adams started to move around on the speedway and found that his best momentum was gained on the outside. He shot past Hartung for the lead and never looked back. Hartung was second, Anderson third, Shane Halopka fourth and Tanner Gehl fifth.

Wyatt Boyum moved into the lead early in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature, as battles waged on behind him for the top-five positions. Ashton Schulte and William Moelter fought for second, as Boyum continued to lead. A few late-race cautions shuffled the deck again, and again no one could touch Boyum, as he was just a step ahead Friday. Boyum picked up the win followed by Moelter, Schulte, James Trantina and Blake Adams.

Dylan Baskin looked as if he was going to win his first-ever WISSOTA Street Stock feature, leading almost the entire event before a slight slip-up on the final lap allowed Gunnar Watkins an opportunity to pull alongside. As the pair entered turn one, Watkins moved to the inside and looked as if he was headed for the win as they exited turn two. The two continued to battle hard which broke their momentum enough that Hunter VanGilder drove to the inside of both Watkins and Baskin in turns three and four, and prevailed to the win. He was chased to the checkered flag by Watkins, Baskin, Fred Prudoehl and Bruce Stanley in the top five.

Brandon Gleiter picked up another win in the Hornet division, followed by Jason Bauer and Jeff Schmitt in the podium spots.
