Hanson hammers out DRC Tour win at Alex while other second night wins go to Froemming, Kostreba, Dykhoff and Kampsen
ALEXANDRIA, MN (May 26) - Viking Speedway was back in action for the second straight night, Sunday, May 26, as the Alexandria, Minnesota oval played host to the final night of its traditional Memorial Day weekend doubleheader.
WISSOTA Dirt Track Series winners included Justin Froemming, Ryan Kostreba, Haley Dykhoff, Andrew Hanson and Kole Kampsen.
In the WISSOTA Modifieds, Froemming zipped from his second-row start to the lead on the very first lap, holding on through 20 laps and taking the win by four seconds ahead of Dustin Bitzan, Brady Gerdes, Jason Thoennes, and Josh Thoennes.
Dykhoff’s win in the WISSOTA Midwest Mods came from the fourth row. She hung in around third and fourth for the majority of the race, making her move to the top spot with a few laps left and garnering the win by a little less than one second ahead of Tanner Bitzan, Josh Muzik, Travis Engebretson, and 20th-starter Nick Bruder.
Ryan Kostreba was king in the WISSOTA Super Stocks, taking the lead around lap 11 of 15 and grabbing the eventual victory ahead of Trevor Nelson, Matt Miller, Travis Scott and Bailey Rosch.
In the WISSOTA Street Stocks, Andrew Hanson continued his 2024 season win streak, driving to the win from his fifth starting spot and taking home trophy No. 4 for the year. Ninth-starter Jeff Ekdahl, Eric Riley, Kyle Dykhoff and Braden Brauer were top-five finishers.
Kole Kampsen scored the WISSOTA Hornet victory Sunday night, taking the win ahead of Jeff Rohner, Kreg Anderson, Christopher Winter, and Christopher Blume in the official top-five rundown following post-race tech.
