PRINCETON, MN (August 30) - Princeton Speedway wrapped up the 2024 race season Friday night with a full show of WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action. The weather was near perfection as fans filled the stands one last time to watch Levi Randt, Clayton Wagamon, Wyatt Boyum, Tyler Larson, Anthony Jenson, Dexton Koch and Carter Jensrud claim wins.

Koch, J.T. Johnson, Jenna Hagemann, Tyler Pelofske, Josh Litzau, Kyle Howland and Ryan Putnam took the championships.

The WISSOTA Street Stocks kicked off the night’s features with Thomas Worth and Steve Eggersgluess on the front row. As the green waved, Worth snagged the lead while Jim Gullikson and Levi Randt went three wide with Eggersgluess. After a caution reset the field, Gullikson made the pass for first, but Worth didn’t let Gullikson get away. Randt took second after another caution, with Worth pressuring him as the top three were nearly three wide in the turns. Gullikson continued to lead with Randt in pursuit with a few laps to go.

With the white raised, Randt and Gullikson were door to door, and as they took the checkers, Randt took the win. With a DQ relegating Gullikson to the rear, Kolton Brauer, Tommy Pogones, Worth and Charlie Shiek rounded out the top five.

Kris Macko and Wyatt Boyum led the WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds around the track for the next feature, and at the end of lap one, Boyum was in the lead. Wyatt Boyum began to stretch his lead with Ashley Boyum in second and Brady Larson in third. The Boyums separated from the field, and Ashley began to reel in Wyatt. A final caution reset the field, but Wyatt Boyum remained in command as Larson took second and Erik Gruhlke snagged third. Wyatt Boyum rebuilt his lead the final laps and continued on to take the win. Gruhlke was second with Larson, Ashley Boyum and Mitch Weiss in the top five.

Josh Madson was the early leader as the WISSOTA Mod Fours took the green with Doug Frederick and Tyler Larson in tow. Larson moved to Frederick’s side and took over second, then looked ahead at Madson. A few cautions kept the Mod Fours at a stop-and-go pace, but Larson was able to take over the top position. Blake Hawker moved into second and chased after Larson but Larson hung on and took the win. Hawker settled for second with Madson, Frederick and Josh Litzau as top finishers.

The WISSOTA Super Stocks were next on the agenda, with Denny Schouveller the early leader as others raced three-wide. Max Nelson and Dylan Kromschroeder took second and third and pressured Schouveller. After a three-wide battle, Nelson took the lead with Kromschroeder and Jason Schill door to door for second. Schill took over second as Dexton Koch moved into a top position and challenged Schill for second. Koch snagged the spot and chased after Nelson with a few laps to go. Koch nosed out the lead and led the final two laps to take the win followed by Nelson, Kromschroeder, Schill and Austin Niemeyer.

Bobie Arnes and Anthony Jenson raced nose to nose for the top point as the green waved for the WISSOTA Hornets, and after a couple laps, Jenson was in command. Jenna Hagemann challenged Arnes for second with Justin Schelitzche close behind. Jenson settled into the lead while Hagemann, Arnes and Matt Drier raced three-wide for second. Hagemann, Drier and Arnes remained close until Hagemann secured the spot. Hagemann chased after the leader, but Jenson took the win with Hagemann, Schelitzche, Arnes and Brandon Nyberg in top spots.

The WISSOTA Modifieds concluded the night and 2024 season, and as lap one was completed, Clayton Wagamon claimed the lead. Wagamon stretched the lead early with Zach Benson in second and Jeff Patchen in third. Wagamon’s lead exceeded a straightaway when a caution was triggered.

Wagamon felt the heat of his competition as the race resumed; Wagamon and Benson pulled away while others battled for position. Tyler Kaeter took second after another caution and chased after Wagamon with just four laps to go. Wagamon, however, didn’t slow down and took the final checkered flag of the season followed by Kaeter, Benson, Travis Schulte and Patchen.

Carter Jensrud took the immediate lead in the MN Micro Sprint feature while Joe Snow snagged second and Mason Seubert took third. Following a caution Jensrud remained in command. Seubert slid alongside Jensrud for the top point, but Jensrud sped away. After being sent to the back for a caution, Snow sped his way back to second and chased after Jensrud for the lead, but the checkered flag soon waved, and Jensrud took the win. Remaining top five positions went to Snow, Owen Henrichs, Seubert and Tyler Pelofske.

With the final checkers waving, the 2024 season came to a close at Princeton Speedway. On behalf of the Wagamon family, track management and staff, thank you to all the drivers and fans who joined us for our first season at the iconic Princeton Speedway. We look forward to being back in 2025 and hope that you will join us.
