Mikkelson, Rodin and Carter cruise to Stampede scores at Jamestown Speedway

JAMESTOWN, ND (September 20-21) - One week off his impressive charge into the top three at the 2024 WISSOTA 100, Ryan Mikkelson topped the WISSOTA Late Model feature at Jamestown Stampede on Saturday.

Mikkelson started his weekend with a heat win in the third qualifier, then beat Dustin Strand to the checkers in the division’s dash.

In the Saturday night headliner, the duo finished one-two again, followed by Brody Troftgruben, ninth-starter Travis Robertson and 20th-starter Mitch Johnson.

Tyler Peterson, Shane Edginton and Cole Schill were also Late Model heat winners.

Lucas Rodin, from nearby Marion, ND, had to be considered a favorite in the WISSOTA Midwest Mod class and he ended up earning the Saturday night Stampede feature win. Jarod Klein settled for runner-up status in the main event followed by Reise Stenberg, Brennon Weight and Jaren Wibstad.

Earlier in the event, Rodin had chased Stenberg to the line in their heat race, and in the division’s dash, both Stenberg and Wibstad finished in front of him. Other Midwest Mod heat winners at the 2024 event were hometowners Scott Bintz, Wibstad and Josh Ganser.

Hunter Carter scored three race wins and a clean sweep at this year’s Stampede. He won the opening WISSOTA Street Stock heat, then also took the checkered out front in the division’s dash and roared to the feature win Saturday night as well.

John Feist moved up four spots in the feature to record a second-place finish, followed by Jonny Carter, who came from 23 spots back to get third. Dustin Erickson also made a nice run and moved up seven spots to get fourth. Kasey Ussatis rounded out the top five.

Along with Hunter Carter, other Street Stock heat winners were Feist and Ussatis.
