Rice Lake reworks a few race nights and announces schedule changes

RICE LAKE, WI - Rice Lake Speedway has announced several schedule updates as they make adjustments to the remainder of the 2024 racing season.

The first change impacts the July 27 program, with the highlight that night being the second and final appearance of the WISSOTA Late Models to the track this year. Originally both the Modifieds and Street Stocks were scheduled to have that night off, but that has now been changed and Modifieds have been added back to the program.

According to speedway spokesman Kolby Kiehl, track management has received a number of requests by Modified drivers from the area, so they have been added to the program on July 27 with it being a fully sanctioned program by WISSOTA for the Modifieds. The Late Models will also be joined by the Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Pure Stocks. Now just the Street Stocks get the night off, in preparation for the Little Dream race on July 30.

The other change involves the year-end program, the Dairyland Dash special, which will be a two-day program at the track on August 31 and September 1. The adjustment in the schedule will find the UMSS Sprints, both the Traditionals and the Winged Sprints, racing a full program on Saturday night, August 31. Then on Sunday night, September 1, the USRA Late Models will run a fully sanctioned program. The Sprints were originally scheduled to run at the track on June 22 but that program was rained out.

The USRA Late Models will be making their first appearance at the track in 2024, having last raced at the speedway twice in 2023.

Along with those two divisions, full shows for the WISSOTA Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, Super Stocks and Modifieds will be held both days. Look for more information including purse information and other details of what will be a memorable wrap-up to the first year for the new ownership. Title sponsors for the Late Model program and Dairyland Dash will soon be announced as well.
