Rice Lake Speedway set to host first Northland Super Stock Series event of 2024 slate

This year marks the 10th year for the FastLane Northland Super Stock Series, created to bring special attention and rewards to the WISSOTA Super Stock class. Series spokesman Dennis McCauley and FastLane Motorsports & Powdercoating owner Chris Bretting have been working since early December to bring the fans and drivers of the Super Stock class another great series in 2024.

Last year the series opened up its schedule at Rice Lake Speedway with an impressive 52 Super Stock drivers in attendance, tying the series-best attendance to date. Following 30 grueling laps in 2023, Shane Sabraski was victorious in taking home the first race of the series and the winners share of the purse.

The track will host the opening round of the series again on Thursday, June 6, with upward of 50 of the best Super Stock drivers from a wide geographical area expected to be in attendance once again.

The FastLane Northland Super Stock Series began in 2015 with modest success, recruiting three tracks in the early years including Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, WI, ABC Raceway in Ashland, WI, and Proctor Speedway in Proctor, MN. In those early years the series averaged 26 drivers per event. In 2017 the series grew to an average of 38 drivers per event. Then, in 2018, the series expanded to a second weekend, adding Granite City Motor Park in Sauk Rapids, MN and Hibbing Raceway, in Hibbing, MN. The series continued its great driver attendance that year averaging 41 drivers for each event.

The series currently runs two back-to-back weekends with eight tracks now participating. Rice Lake Speedway, Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie, ABC Raceway, Proctor Speedway, Grand Rapids Speedway, Gondik Law Speedway, Ogilvie Raceway, and Granite City Motor Park will again host races for the 2024 campaign, crowning a champion upon the conclusion of the series.

Last year the series had 88 different drivers competing over the eight nights, with 29 drivers making all eight nights. With the help of great sponsors, the series had a payout of more than $40,000 last year, not including more than $2,000 in gift certificates handed out by Bretting for FastLane Motorsports and Powdercoating, along with numerous contingency prizes. Total value of payouts for those drivers last year exceeded $100,000 over the eight nights.

The series would like to recognize all eight of the participating tracks for their support to the Super Stock class and a special thank you for working with their competing tracks to allow their regular drivers to compete in the series. Main sponsors for the series include FastLane Motorsports & Powder Coating, Halvor Lines, West Metro Buick GMC, Ignite Dispensaries, Fond du Luth Casino, Lulich Implement, and Affordable Chassis-Rapids Performance.

We encourage fans and drivers to get out and support the first stop June 6 in Rice Lake and continue on with us for the weekend.
