Bogh, Perry, Kopecky, Zabel and Gelling get their rides rolling at Miller Central Speedway
MILLER, SD (June 15) - Nick Perry scored his first-career WISSOTA Dirt Track Series victory on Saturday night at Miller Central Speedway. Chase Gelling, Dylan Zabel, Brad Kopecky and Michael Bogh also raced to checkered flags at the central South Dakota oval.
Perry, of Huron, held only a handful of starts before this season started, but captured the WISSOTA Midwest Modified victory a few months into his first full campaign. He started on the inside of the second row, and outran sixth-starter Luke Johnson to the checkers. Trevor Ryan posted a third-place finish ahead of Lane Johnson and Dawson Zabel.
Gelling collected his first Miller Central Speedway victory at the end of the 20-lap WISSOTA Late Model main event. Gelling started on the pole and snagged the win over fellow-front row starter Dustin Arthur. Josh Skorczewski drove from seventh to third, Cole Searing was fourth and Jayson Good was fifth.
Zabel notched his first win of the season in the WISSOTA Modified feature. He started on the outside of the front row, and scored the win ahead of former national champion Mike Stearns. Tyler Anglin posted a third-place effort over Andy Brooker.
Kopecky also grabbed his first win of the season in the WISSOTA Super Stock division, a victory translated from a front-row start. Nathan Grehl chased Kopecky to the line in second with Stewart Schipke third, Trevor Nelson fourth and Austin Arbogast fifth.
Bogh pocketed his second win of the weekend in the WISSOTA Street Stock ranks — the first coming in Aberdeen a night prior. Andy Rossow charged to second, but settled for second with eighth-starter Maria Broksieck third, ninth-starter Broc Stout fourth and Kenneth Clements third.
Cody Songer raced to the Pure Stock win.
