Hoium nails down Mod win and it’s a Saurer and Saurer show Saturday at Viking Speedway

ALEXANDRIA, MN (June 8) - Viking Speedway was back in action with another full program of WISSOTA Dirt Track Series action on Saturday night. Brett Hoium, a pair of Saurers - Ron and Trevor - and Matthew Dittman earned the feature wins at the half mile.

Hoium started on the front row of the WISSOTA Modified main event, and led the thundering herd across the checkered flag. It was the first win of the season at Viking for Hoium. Mike Stearns followed Hoium across the line in second with Jason Thoennes third, Justin Froemming fourth and Brady Gerdes fifth.

Trevor Saurer also turned a front-row start into a victory in the WISSOTA Super Stocks. He started second and narrowly held off Ryan Kostreba for his first win of the season at the speedway. William Lund was third ahead of Bailey Rosch and Karter Reents.

The patriarch of the Saurer family - Ron - topped the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature for his first win of the season at Viking. Ron started on the front row, and grabbed the checkers ahead of eighth-starter Tanner Bitzan, Taylor Bitzan, Nick Bruder, and Jon Carlson.

Dittman earned his third WISSOTA Hornet main event win of the season in Alexandria. He started fourth, and grabbed the checkers ahead of Kole Kampsen, Jeff Rohner, Kreg Anderson, and Austin Raths.
