Leiker, Larson and Ferguson fastest in fifth-week features at Black Hills Speedway
RAPID CITY, SD (June 7) - Leonard Ferguson, Tony Leiker, and Dean Larson all made return trips to Black Hills Speedway victory lane Friday night, as the speedway hosted its fifth week of action.
Ferguson, whose four wins have all come at Black Hills this early season, started third in the WISSOTA Street Stock feature and moved his way to the front early. He took the win ahead of Eric Mass, Warren Pourier, Jr., eighth-starter Jaren Puhlman, and Toby Price in the top five.
Larson, who collected his 16th victory Friday night, started outside of row two and took the lead by lap three of the WISSOTA Mod Four feature. From there he drove on to a .836 advantage ahead of Shelli Lind in second. Kyle Hardesty, Rob Arlaud and Khi Jackson were top-five finishers.
Leiker started inside row three of the WISSOTA Midwest Mod feature, took the lead around lap six and held on to the checkered flag .828 seconds ahead of polesitter Scott Tyrell. Eighth-starter Kyle Harkin improved five spots to third, Lane Johnson was fourth and Paul Parks completed the top five.
Travis Reber (Sprints), Eric Mass (Modifieds), and John Garrigan, Jr. (Hobby Stocks) were winners in the track’s other action.
