Rain ruins a perfectly good night of racing at Casino Speedway after GenX feature finished

By Tony Steuck

WATERTOWN, SD (May 26) - Fans at Casino Speedway had only heat races and the Gen X Late Model main event to whet their racing appetite on Sunday, May 26, before a steady rain shower postponed the remainder of the WISSOTA Dirt Track Series program.

Bodie Croninger dominated the 15-lap Gen X Late Model main event. He battled with Doug Walsh on the opening circuit, then pulled away from the pack. Curt Kranz slid into second early, and closed a bit on the leader as the laps wound down, but could not deny Croninger his first win of the season.

Terry Reilly outdueled Scott Hansen for the early lead in the 20-lap WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature. Tommy Nichols challenged Hansen to his inside for second, and Todd Stark was close as well in a tight four-pack for the lead. A pair of cautions fell with four laps scored, and the rain took advantage to end the rest of the night.

The remaining features will be completed at a later date.
