Sheridan Speedway goes green as Berger and Petroff post season-opening wins; Larson doubles and Hauff hoists checkers after night two Midwest Mod main

SHERIDAN, WY (April 27-28) - Mario Berger, Robert Petroff, Dean Larson, and Darin Hauff kicked off their 2024 WISSOTA Dirt Track Series season with victories at Sheridan Speedway Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28, during the track’s annual two-day season opener.

On Saturday, Berger came from seventh on the starting grid to nail down the Midwest Modified victory. He took the checkered flag ahead of Austin Long, Bart Taylor, Tony Leiker and Hauff in the top five.

In the Street Stocks, Petroff bested front-row starter Troy Cepak, Jr. for the win. Dillon Johnson, Jeremy Castro and Dillon Hoppe were top-five finishers.

Dean Larson continued his dominance in the Mod Fours. He was followed to the checkered flag by Dax Reher, Shelli Lind, Mike Lind and Rob Arlaud in the top five.

Bart Taylor was victorious in the Modifieds, Wolfi Gensch won the Sport Compact feature, and Jim Reiter made his way to victory lane in the Rocky Mtn. Hardtops to conclude opening night action.

On Sunday, it was more of the same for Petroff and Larson. Petroff picked up the win in the Street Stocks from his fourth-starting spot. He was followed across the stripe by Cepak, Chris Uroszek, Ken Harmon and Trevor Clark.
