Rodin & Bluhm best finale night fields at Central Arizona Speedway Saturday
From All The Dirt! Racing News and DirtonDirt.com Staff Reports
CASA GRANDE, AZ (January 27) - The WISSOTA wheelmen in action down in Arizona got it done again Saturday night, as Dustin Bluhm and Lucas Rodin were victorious during the final night of the Ernie Mincy Early Thaw at Central Arizona Raceway.
Bluhm, of Kindred, ND, led all 35 laps from the pole to win Saturday's $3,000 feature. Bluhm captured his first career Early Thaw victory and said it was the biggest triumph of his career.
Ricky Weiss, who won the fifth round just one day prior, trailed Bluhm for the entire distance, finishing 1.094 seconds. It gave the Weiss-designed Sniper Chassis a 1-2 back-to-back finish, and Weiss earned the most points throughout the six-race miniseries. Shane Edginton held third for all 35 laps, rounding out the podium finishers. East Grand Forks, Minnesota’s Dustin Strand was fourth, and Collen Winebarger was fifth.
In the Limited Mods, Rodin found his way back into victory lane for the fifth win of the miniseries. He was followed to the checkered flag by North Dakota’s Jess Brekke, Minnesota’s Jake Smith, Hector Barraza, and Minnesota’s Travis Saurer in the top five.
In Central Arizona Raceway’s other classes, Boddie Parker, Troy Morris III, and Brock Beeter made their way to victory lane to close out the weekend.
