MPH Invitational moves to Granite City Motor Park, set for Saturday, September 6
ST. CLOUD, MN (January 3) -WISSOTA’s newest post-season special event, the MPH Invitational, has seen a venue change for the upcoming 2025 season. This coming season the event will be hosted at Granite City Motor Park, located just outside of St. Cloud, Minnesota in Sauk Rapids.
The event’s schedule has also changed. Practice will be held on Friday, September 5, with racing action scheduled for Saturday, September 6. Sunday, September 7 is the scheduled rain date.
Previous champions of the MPH include Dustin Holtquist and Tommy Pogones (Mod Fours), Brent Mindock and Dustin Puffe (Pure Stocks) and Jenna Hagemann (Hornets-dual winner).
The event will host WISSOTA-sanctioned Mod Fours, Pure Stocks and Hornets once again.
Just like the previous two years, the Mod Fours will time trial to start the night and all three classes will use passing points to determine the feature lineups.
Each winner will be crowned as the MPH Invitational Champion, and will also have their car on display on championship Saturday night of the WISSOTA 100, September 13 at I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN.
“We are excited for the opportunity to hold a premier event with WISSOTA,” said Granite City Motor Park owner James Trantina. “It will be a great weekend and a lot of fun for our fans, racers and sponsors. We feel it will allow the families to be able to attend and support their favorite drivers, now that it’s located in central Minnesota. That will really help the atmosphere of this event and bring the feel it should have. Kwik Trip has already signed on to help with fuel cards for all racers [who] attend the event. The [farther] away the racers come from, the [more] the fuel card is!
“We will have a free steak dinner for all racers Friday night after practice,” Trantina continued, “free breakfast for racers and crew Saturday, and additional fun things to do that weekend to keep everyone entertained and a fun weekend. These racers deserve to have a weekend and event devoted to them, as it’s their biggest race of the year; along with WISSOTA, [we] will make sure it happens. We look forward to seeing all the racers and fans attending the MPH Invitational in 2025!
WISSOTA staff and board of directors thank Bemidji Speedway for hosting the previous MPH events, and they forward to working with the staff at Granite City for the 2025 event.
Times, payouts, entry information and other details will be released in the months to come.
